About This Spot

Located just a stone's throw from the bustling ferry station in Trafaria, Tejo Terrace Café offers a charming retreat for both locals and travelers alike. With its picturesque views of the serene Tejo River and a friendly atmosphere, this café makes for an ideal stop while waiting for the ferry to Belém or just a leisurely afternoon break.

Stepping into Tejo Terrace, you’re greeted by the warm, inviting ambiance created by friendly staff who quickly make you feel right at home. According to Luc De Koninck, it's an excellent café to pass the time, offering a welcoming environment that makes waiting for your next adventure all the more enjoyable. The café is not only about stunning views but also embodies a cozy, community vibe that truly captures the essence of Portuguese culture.

As for the offerings, Tejo Terrace Café serves up a delightful array of refreshments, perfect for any craving. Whether you're in the mood for a robust coffee or a refreshing beer, you'll find your preferences expertly catered to. Customer Darius Sunawala praises the café’s "nice(ish) views of the Tejo" along with "pretty good" food, but it’s the warmth and friendliness of the service that keeps patrons returning. The genuine smiles and engaging conversation from the staff elevate your experience, leaving you with a sense of connection akin to sipping coffee in your own living room.

The café’s modest size adds to its charm, though it’s worth noting, as Nasser mentioned, it's not vast. This makes for an intimate atmosphere, where you're likely to rub shoulders with locals—an experience lauded by Alex Ferr. Here, you can enjoy your morning coffee alongside seasoned fishermen, indulging in freshly made pastries and simple, tasty dishes that epitomize the café’s dedication to quality and authenticity. With prices that are favorable compared to other establishments in the area, dining here feels both economical and satisfying.

So, whether you're there to unwind with a good book, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy the scenery, Tejo Terrace Café invites you to sit back, relax, and savor the moments that make traveling truly special. A visit here is not just about food and drink; it’s about embracing the lively atmosphere and forming connections that linger long after the coffee has cooled.

Excellent café to pass the time while you’re waiting for the ferry to Belém.

Right opposite the ferry station and has nice(ish) views of the Tejo. Food is pretty good but the service is so warm and friendly it’ll make you want to come back again!!!

Great place to grab a beer or coffee while waiting for the ferry, or for it to get late enough to go to lunch.

Nice place with a good view to the Tejo river. Price were good compared to other cafés. Staff was very nice. There isn't much more to say, a place to eat/drink like every cafe. Just felt it was a bit small.

All locals, not a tourist in sight. Nice Lisbon view. Basic café with fresh made... everything. Loads of proper, old style fishermen having the morning coffee.
